David Keanu Sai has a PhD in Political Science from U.H. Mānoa. He teaches at Windward Community College, is adjunct faculty for the graduate program at U.H. Mānoa College of Education and is a prominent expert in Hawaiian political history. His research and publications focus on the political and legal history of the Hawaiian Kingdom from the eighteenth century to the present.
