Volcano, Hawai'i
Longtime Volcano resident Tom Peek is the author of the Hawaiʻi novel Daughters of Fire (Bess Press), winner of a Benjamin Franklin Award from the national Independent Book Publishers Association, and is currently working on another novel. He’s taught his popular writing workshops since 1991, through Volcano Art Center, the Pacific Writers’ Connection, UH Hilo and other venues on Hawaiʻi, Oʻahu, Maui and Lana‘i and in Canada. A writer for more than three decades, Tom’s nonfiction work ranges from newspaper commentaries and public policy studies to national park exhibits and award-winning video productions. He also does private editorial consultations, writer mentoring and critique group facilitation. For more information, visit www.TomPeek.com and www.DaughtersofFire.com.

Tom hopes to connect with attendees who are deeply interested in Hawaiʻi literature, as well as those who’d like to see these important narratives reach broader audiences within and beyond the archipelago.
